The Intersection — West Michigan’s Live Music Legend since 1972 For 50 years, The Intersection has provided West Michigan with the best local and national live music and entertainment.

Located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, The Intersection offers five stages across one venue — the Showroom with 1500 capacity, Elevation with 800 capacity, The Stache with 400 capacity, The Mint with 200 capacity, and our outdoor Rock the Lot stage at 2200.

SAFETY

The Intersection is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our guests to enjoy their visit. We encourage all customers to review our list of items that are not allowed into the venue on any occasion.

  • All alcohol and drug laws will be strictly enforced
  • We suggest you leave valuable and unnecessary items at home
  • Prior to entering the venue, guests may be searched (wand metal detection and/or pat-downs)

We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone. If you see anything that concerns you please notify a shirted security guard or ask to speak to a manager. If you are found impaired at entry to the venue, security will not allow you to enter.

CLEAR BAG POLICY

Clear bags are allowed up to 12″ x 6″ x 12″ and small clutches / wallets are allowed up to 4.5″ x 6.5.” All subject to search.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

This list of prohibited items is subject to change at the discretion of venue management. Every show may have different requirements regarding what is permitted into the venue, as a rule the following items are never permitted:

  • Professional photo/video equipment – anything with a detachable lens
  • Outside food or drink of any kind
  • Selfie Sticks
  • Camelbacks
  • Weapons of any kind (including off duty law enforcement and CPL holders)
  • Toy weapons, frisbees, etc.
  • Chairs, blankets, etc.
  • Stickers and flyers
  • Laser pointers
  • Markers, pens, spray paint, etc.
  • Balloons and other inflatables
  • Illegal substances and any other item deemed unsuitable by venue security
  • Any jewelry or clothing that could inflict harm

FAQ

What is your COVID policy?

Our COVID policy is left up to each artist performing. If a show has COVID restrictions, that information will be posted on the official sectionlive.com event page, as well as the ticketing site and Facebook event page. 

How can I purchase tickets? 

Purchase tickets online at sectionlive.com / etix.com, visit The Intersection Box Office, or call (616)-723-8571 to secure tickets via Etix. If a show is not yet sold out, tickets will be available for purchase at the door. 

Box Office hours of operation? 

The Intersection Box Office is open Monday – Friday from 12pm – 6pm. The Box Office also opens up for service during shows.

Delivery methods for tickets? 

Purchasing tickets online at sectionlive.com / etix.com gives the option of mobile tickets sent via email or text. If you like to save your stubs, hard copy tickets can be purchased at the Box Office with no fees or held at Will Call for a $3.50 fee. 

Can I get a refund? 

All ticket sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges. However, if a show or tour is canceled or postponed, refunds may be available at point of purchase.

Help! I’ve been scammed!

Unfortunately, ticket scalpers and scammers are out there. We cannot guarantee entry when tickets are purchased through any third party seller or website, including Ticketmaster, StubHub, etc. Our ticketing partner is Etix.

Do you have reserved seating available? 

We currently offer pre-reserved seating in Elevation and The Intersection Showroom for select shows. If you are interested in requesting reserved seating before day of show, please email Stacey Alexander Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm at Stacey@sectionlive.com.

Do you have an ADA section? 

Our venues are ADA compliant and we offer handicapped seating in advance for Elevation and The Intersection showroom only, please email Stacey Alexander Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm at Stacey@sectionlive.com. For The Stache or The Mint ADA handicapped requests please see security upon arrival to the event.

ID required? 

17+ shows require ID upon entry. All Ages shows do not require ID upon entry. However, a valid ID is essential when picking up tickets at Will Call or from the Guest List. If you plan on consuming alcohol, you must be 21+ and provide a valid Driver’s License, State ID, Military ID, or a passport.

I’m on the Guest List!

Please have your ID ready and confirm with your contact prior to show that your name is on the list. We are not responsible for mistakes made by artists or band members, radio stations, or other promotional groups, although we will follow up on Guest List inquiries to the best of our ability.

What is your photo policy? 

Smartphones and point-and-shoot cameras are allowed, unless otherwise specified by the artist. Professional grade cameras with removable lenses are not allowed without a photo pass and granted permission from the artist and/or venue. 

Where should I park? 

There are plenty of lots, meters, and ramps all over the beautiful city of Grand Rapids within walking distance (more info here). Our lot is reserved for employees and bands only.

Is there a dress code?

No formal dress code. However, we reserve the right to enforce a dress code for the safety of our employees and guests. Such details will be posted on the sectionlive.com event page and at the door.

Do you offer coat check? 

Coat check is available for select shows, only when it’s cold outside. 

Do you allow re-entry?

No re-entry. The only exception is our smoking section.

What time does the show start/end? 

Doors and show times will be posted online at sectionlive.com. Local support, if any, will start the show followed by tour support — and, finally, the headliner(s). Each act will typically perform between 45 – 90 minute sets. We hope you come early, stay late and have fun!

How do artists / bands submit to play The Intersection? 

If your band wants to support an upcoming show at The Intersection, Elevation, The Stache or The Mint, please submit here via Opnr for consideration.
